Long road home

Nifty

So I can now check my work email from home again. Yay!

You may wonder why this makes me happy. This is because a) it makes me feel like I accomplished something productive today and b) this will enable me to write discrepancy reports from home so I won't have to incur Bob's wrath for not sending them out in a timely manner for when I have to stay late at work, like Sunday nights. Also, this will enable me to contact Jackie while she's at work for things that don't require a phone call. Or anyone else for that matter.

Now I just need to get the incoming/outgoing server info so that I can load it into my Thunderbird.

Long road home

Candy-coated money-maker

So I was just sitting here thinking about how we finally finished all the Christmas candy and now Valentine's Day is right around the corner, which generally speaking means more candy. That got me to thinking about Easter which is a month after that ... which got me to thinking about where does this madness start -- Halloween! Americans start their sugar buzz in October with Halloween and go right through to Easter with a steady supply of sugar, courtesy corporate America. It could be argued that Memorial Day presents another opportunity for "holiday-themed" candy, although not nearly to the extent of the other holidays.

No wonder people have so much trouble with sticking to their diets.
