Well, maybe I did need it. So this whole entire day I've been hopped up on cold medicine, even though I didn't think I really needed it. I must admit, this has improved the coughing over what it's been the past few days, so hopefully sleep will not elude me tonight. I *love* to sleep. I am the Biggest Bitch you ever met when I am prevented from getting sleep. If I had my way about things, I'd get 9-10 hours of sleep regularly (and sometimes I do!).
Other than that, I got nothing. Today was a pretty uneventful day, which sometimes is a good thing. The weather was really nice for a change; spring is trying to, well, spring!
I finally got back to studying German before the book's due at the library. It has certainly whet my appetite for wanting to take a full-fledged college course of study in German. The book I'm using is funny, I think I mentioned it in a previous entry: "German Without All the Fuss". It's just a corny title, and sometimes the presentation feels insulting to my intelligence, like they're trying to appeal to a group of people who never took a foreign language in their life, whose only fluent language is English. And yet the authors have a wacky sense of humor which I appreciate. The situations used for conversation on the CD are just ridiculous, but in a good way. You get the feeling you are eavesdropping on a bonafide, modern-day, Y2K-sensible, realistic conversation between native German speakers, so I like that part of it.
So I am enjoying it, and there is nothing I would love more than to get a real working knowledge of yet another language. I took French in high school and Japanese in college, both of which I'd like to brush up on desperately. Not like I'm going to be doing any travelling any time soon, but you never know who you might be standing next to in line at the coffee shop. Hell, it's just nice to feel like I'm taking a class again. I didn't particularly want to drop the class I started to take a year ago, and speaking of which, I am greatly looking forward to starting up classes again in the fall. No more financial surprises this time. When I go back in the fall, I'm in it till the bitter end!!!
