There, in front of the three men who were my biggest detractors in my first year here at WOOD TV-8 -- Trent, Kevin, and Joe -- I solved a problem that none of them could figure out. They sat there and pored over it for a few minutes after I'd walked in the door and calmly set my bags down. I watched them for a few minutes more, discussing it and just generally scratching their heads.
Then I walked up, assessed the problem, calmly and wordlessly pressed a few buttons, and ... problem solved.
But the best part is, this all happened over a piece of equipment that stumped me the most in my early days here.
I can now die happy, because I never thought I'd live to see this day!!
