A news anniversary

It was 7 years ago today that my fate was sealed in the news industry. On this date 7 years ago was my first day of work at NBC-24 WNWO in Toledo, Ohio. I started as a part-time camera operator on the morning show. On that day I witnessed the breakdown and recovery of one of the main anchors of the morning show, all within 2 minutes before airtime. It was the most amazing thing I'd witnessed at any job I'd ever held up to that point in my life. Immediately following that was the experience of being connected to the world that is the behind-the-scenes crew of any television news station. I'd never experienced anything like it in my life. It was chaotic, heart-stopping, and I was hooked from that day forward.

And now here I am, living out my dreams as a result of that day: I'm married to the man of my dreams, and living in Florida, two things I'd dreamed about for several years before realizing. It just goes to show that if you have the spunk and the courage to follow your dreams, you really can live the life you've always wanted!!

Now if I could just win the lottery ...
